This year at Pleasant Ridge we will be marking Earth Day (Friday, April 22, 2016) in a very special way. The staff and students will be giving the school a 25th anniversary tree. We will be planting this tree on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Parent-Drop Off Loop. We will be having our Students of the Month for the 2015-2016 school year serve as our official “Ground Breakers”.
It’s also Zero Trash Day!
In recognition of EARTH DAY, we are committing to ZERO Trash.
Everyone is asked to bring lunches, drinks and snacks where all parts of it can be eaten, reused, recycled, or composted so there is nothing that needs to go in the trash. You can help your child pack his or her waste-free lunch by including only what your student can eat and placing it in reusable containers or bags.
Waste-Free Lunch Tips:
• Sandwiches in reusable containers
• Whole fruits without packaging
• Drinks in containers that can be reused, such as a thermos, or recycled, such as a can or bottle
• Snacks purchased in bulk and brought in reusable containers
• Reusable ice packs
Thank you for your support!
.. and we need of parent volunteers for every lunch!
The greatest need is in Kindergarten and First Grade. Volunteers need to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled lunch time. Please let your classroom teacher know as soon as possible if you can volunteer.
Lunch Times:
- 10:55 -11:25 2nd Grade
- 11:30 – 12:00 Kindergarten
- 12:05 – 12:35 3rd Grade
